One Day at a Time · A calendar of daily wisdom, without the woo-woo
For anyone who feels behind, is trying to lose weight, change career or stop overthinking. One short story, one small thing to do, every day of 2027.
From the One Day at a Time podcast (850+ episodes) and the apps used by 100,000+ people.

Years ago I wrote one line to explain what I was trying to do: help people live in the present moment, without the woo-woo.
It’s everything I’ve learned, boiled down. Over 850 podcast episodes. Hundreds of pages of book notes. More than 10 years helping people with their health and fitness. The apps I built have been used by more than 100,000 people. Businesses that worked and businesses that didn’t, built with no safety net. And jiu-jitsu, which I started from nothing at around 30, and built a business from.
Thousands of years of wisdom and my own mistakes, turned into practical advice in plain English. No woo-woo. A bit of banter, a bit of fun, and one small thing to do each day.

On the community
“Philosophy was always meant to be something we put into practice, rather than just something we read or talk about. What I appreciate about the Turtle community is its emphasis on making philosophical ideas accessible and relevant to the everyday challenges people face. That’s very much in keeping with the original spirit of Stoicism.”
Donald RobertsonAuthor of How to Think Like a Roman EmperorCognitive-behavioural psychotherapist and writer on StoicismOn Scott’s approach
“The approach that Scott promotes is admirable in keeping things simple and accessible but grounded in science. He’s genuinely driven by helping people to help themselves and not in selling quick fixes.”
Professor Nick WarehamDirector of IMS Epidemiology, University of CambridgeResearch.com ranks him the 2nd medical scientist in the UK and 15th in the world (October 2026). His research has been cited 320,516 times. He studies obesity and diabetes and how to prevent themOn the One Day at a Time podcast
“I’m a big believer in starting the day with consistent habits and these bite sized podcasts were such a great companion when I was setting up my business and needed a focused mindset. They’re like a coach in your pocket. I highly recommend!”

“Scott’s mantra of one day at a time has lived inside me ever since COVID. … Those little snippets of wisdom were like treasures, often just a few minutes long, but packed with perspective, reassurance, humour and simple reminders of what really matters. Scott has a gift for taking things that can feel complicated and making them feel achievable.”

“Scott has a fantastic ability to inspire, motivate and educate in a way that’s honest, relatable and practical. His One Day At A Time podcasts are thought-provoking and full of useful advice, brilliantly combining ancient Greek wisdom with modern science and psychology to help navigate everyday life. … What makes Scott’s approach so special is that it’s realistic, supportive and never about perfection. … Through Turtle, he’s created my reset and safe space somewhere I can always return to, without judgement or shame, to find motivation, regain perspective and start again.”
On the podcast and the community
“The podcasts and live chats with experts and also with the community made any problems or struggles feel less like a you problem … and more something to challenge and work through. … I am so often getting off track and falling away from ‘perfect’ but that is because I am living a life!! Turtle helps me pick up and get back to working towards my health and fitness goals. … And I can’t lie sometimes just the one day at a time is what I need.”
On the podcast and the community
“Scott helped me lose nearly five stone through Turtle, but the impact of his support went far beyond weight loss. His daily check-ins and podcast became such an important part of that journey, helping me see that there was more to it than a number on the scales. What makes Scott’s approach so special is that he talks about weight loss in the context of real life. It’s about how we think, the choices we make and how we keep going day by day. I came to Turtle wanting to lose weight, but I took away so much more. I’m incredibly grateful for the difference he’s made. He rewrote years of ‘bad’ diet culture within my mind!”
