An amazing insight into what it was like to go from a happy, fulfilled life into hell on earth and back. The journey of Viktor Frankl is extraordinary and the lessons in this book should be shared with every human being on earth. 

What makes this book a 10/10 is that Donald Robertson is an experienced psychotherapist. The book connects the Stoic techniques and modern-day CBT and it makes the entire thing ‘click’. You understand how the Stoics were able to direct their life and why the techniques worked. This background and connection give the Stoics another element of proof in my mind. If the Stoics were essentially practicing ancient CBT then it makes complete sense as to why it was a really helpful philosophy of life to all those people back then. 

A very simple and effective way to live your life. A slightly different look at how to live from the ancient wisdom of the Toltecs, the ancients of the Americas. No doubt if you’re struggling with life at the moment this book can help. 

This book gives an in-depth and direct explanation of what “resistance” is. Aimed at the artist, but it applies to all of us. Whatever we want to do is our art.  

The importance of this book cannot be overstated. I believe that reading this book will unlock a new lease of life for many. So many of us are held back by our Resistance. It comes from within. It aims to ‘kill,’ as the author explains. 

The beauty of Resistance is that it tells us precisely what we need to do. The stronger the Resistance, the more important it is that we DO go that way. That we do follow that path. 

A book of 300 maxims written in the 1600s. The wisdom in this book is unbelievable and it blows my mind how we are exactly the same as people from the 1600s and even back to the Ancient Greeks. Yet we still don’t listen to this wisdom being passed on to us, why?

For a book written 100+ years ago, this hits home hard. Time, something we think we will have forever is slipping away every second. The author explains “time” very well. You will never get more time, you have and will always have all the time there is. You only have 24 hours a day, that’s it.
